1 What’s a Feature Engineer within ING Group Services?
ING Group Services is looking for a Feature Engineer for the IT-area for Data of Know Your Customer (KYC) within Tech/Group Services. As feature engineer you are working closely with the business, architecture and the squads to deliver the global KYC solution. To help us realize the global KYC solution we are looking for an enthusiastic Feature Engineer in the IT area of KYC. Hiring Manager is Annemieke Boomgaard.
A Feature Engineer within ING Group Services/KYC does the following:
- Support the Product Owner with refining Epics into Features and Feature refinement with a focus on the technical solution directions, technical dependencies, clarifying functional and technical dependencies and which Squads/Teams/specialists to involve.
- New business requirements/functionalities are translated into understandable and actionable items and technical designs for the squads
- Refining technical solution directions and technical dependencies drafted in the Epic in coordination with the Business Analyst, the Domain Architect and relevant Squad members, using his/her in-depth IT/application knowledge.
- Identifying which Squads/Teams/specialists to involve in the Agile build cycle
- Working closely with the Business Analyst (focus on business content and functional dependencies), the Service Manager (focus on non-functional requirements, non-functional acceptance criteria and service levels) and the Test Manager (focus on Feature test plan and test practices).
- Facilitating the Feature planning, cooperation between Squads and the Tribe Team (if any) and Feature delivery.
- Safeguard the delivery of complex features, often cross-team/domain; herewith maintaining close relationship with (business) counterpart(s)
- Verifying the extent to which the realized Feature works as designed.
- Work together with other Feature Engineers, Domain Architects, Product Owners and DevOps teams in an international environment
- Challenge and advise Product Owners on Feature dependencies and priorities and backlog alignment of individual Squads
Your “backpack” should contain :
- Bachelor or Master Degree in IT (Engineering)
- Experience in delivering/implementation of features/IT solutions End to End
- Knowledge of IT landscape and technologies; Has profound knowledge of multiple (new) technologies and a holistic view on the IT landscape. Is an outside-in thinker. Oversees technical impact of a chosen solution.
- IT application and IT infrastructure knowledge
- Experience in refining and designing features, At least 5 year technical design knowledge.
- You are constantly pro-active improving your IT knowledge, IT innovation vison and skills.
- Proven experience and competent in IT Area’s and in communicating with Business Partners.
- You’ve got experience with the agile way of working. Optional KYC knowledge.
- Good level of English. Excellent communication and presentation skills to be representative in larger groups.
- Very good stakeholder management skills to operate in a complex and global environment.
- You are not afraid to operate in the middle of many stakeholders and have a very pro-active attitude.
- You are self-driven and have a can do, can do now attitude.
