lobal Process Management is a Centre Of Excellence (CoE) within the global COO domain at ING Bank, with as purpose to “bring value by creating easy, uniform and digital processes.”
Within Global Process Management Tooling, we are looking for a Product Owner (PO). In this role, you will help to embed the process management mindset within the organization and are involved in the continuous improvement of the offering for process management tooling.
The global process management platform is rolled out in the global organization, and the tooling team services different units world-wide. Through this, we are able to deliver our internal customers a process management tooling experience, whilst remaining compliant and in control of our platform on a global scale. You will be in contact with market leading vendors and colleagues from many different disciplines, geographies and backgrounds.
As Product Owner, you are responsible to determine priority with your Tooling expert lead, work closely with your Global Process Management counterparts and carry the responsibility for the process management tooling vision, roadmap, backlog and stakeholder management. You will prioritize the backlog based on business value and enable the squad to make choices on how to deliver the roadmap. You will gather data driven insights on the performance of the platform and squad to improve on our delivery, on quality and effectiveness.

Roles and responsibilities
- With the GPM Tooling team and Expert Lead Tooling, you create and communicate a product vision and strategy, in line with the GPM strategy and vision;
- You strive for innovation and improvement in the process management tooling domain, looking for opportunities that bring value to our tool and business stakeholders;
- You maximize the value of product delivery through owning, ordering, prioritizing and communicating the roadmap, adhering to agreed boundaries set by the Expert Lead on business priority, time, budget and functionality;
- You are responsible for the ‘what’ in a Squad, and help the team to focus,
- You ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are met for all stakeholders. Non-functional requirements include, but are not limited to: security, resilience, performance, contractual, legal and compliance requirements and obligations with our internal and external vendors;
- With the GPM Tooling team and BusDevOps squad in Group Services, you manage and prioritize the backlog based on the roadmap and ensure that the tool is further developed by initiating new Epics, Features and Stories;
- With the scrum master, you solve impediments encountered in the development of the platform;
- You monitor the quality and performance of the squad and platform;
- You ensure compliance with ING’s policies and standards;
- You will take the role of an end-consumer representative for the product and ensure that the end-consumer’s experience and compliance is recognized by the squad;
- You work with our counterparts in the Group Service domain, such as architects and service managers, to ensure the delivery of a great product to our customers.
- You work closely with our vendor to ensure feedback of the product and alignment on innovation and development.
- You support the Head of Global process management in the tooling execution for the CoE by acting as delegated asset owner;
- You work closely and proactively together with GPM colleagues to realize our goals and ensure alignment with other squads that fall under the Head of Process Management or Tooling Expert Lead.

- Master or bachelor degree;
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years working experience (depending on role specification and related seniority level);
- A personality and the capabilities to optimally function within an Agile environment;
- Ability to say no, in a tactful way;
- Natural Leader with strong analytical skills;
- Open to innovate and challenge the status quo and make change happen;
- Experience/affinity with innovation within process management, Data and IT;
- Experience in guiding and realizing change;
- Excellent communication, networking and influencing skills;
- Confident and mature in handling complex issues and dealing with multiple (sometimes conflicting) interests;
- Proven experience in large consultancy initiatives with high impact;
- Fluent in English speaking and writing, Dutch is a preference;
- Experience/affinity with Process Management is a preference.
