The opportunity

Due to the departure of a current team member the opportunity to become an Investment Manager with a focus on monitoring and controlling Treasury and the LDI portfolio within the Balance Sheet Management department has arisen.

The Balance Sheet Management department falls under the Investment Director. The investment managers, strategists, balance sheet manager, asset management lawyer, and the operations manager fall under Balance Sheet Management. All investments are managed by mandated external asset managers. The team focuses on a careful selection of new external managers and more and more on proactively, continuously, and thoroughly monitoring the external managers. Being “in control” by being in pro-active contact with the external managers is one of the main areas of current and future work. It is important to have sufficient countervailing power towards the external managers.

The team

The Executive Office consists of two teams: Balance Sheet Management and Pension Management, which includes Risk Management. Both teams together have 25 FTEs.

Roles and responsibilities

The Investment Manager to be recruited will, together with another colleague, be responsible for the following activities:

- the strategic coordination, monitoring and control of two LDI managers (size 20 billion euros)

- monitoring and directing external managers for credits and mortgages (size 2 billion euros);

- monitoring and directing the Treasury manager;

* liquidity management (cash, short term bonds, and money market funds)

* stress testing

* collateral management

The profile of the Investment Manager to be recruited includes:

- relevant experience in the field of Treasury and fixed income;

- academic education;

- 5 to 8 years of experience;

- econometric, financial, economic;

- (work) experience with relevant systems (e.g. Bloomberg)

The Investment Manager participates in the Monitoring Committee. The purpose of this committee is to select and monitor external managers in a structured manner. The committee consists of members of the Balance Sheet and Risk Management team. It periodically reports to the Executive Board.
