The team
Real Estate Finance (REF) is a part of ING that manages commercial real estate loans. One of its applications is called REF Portal, a customer facing application that provides to the clients an optimal insight into their loan and real estate data, support customer processes and give access to third party services and goods.
Roles and responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to be part of the squad that maintains REF Portal. We expect that this engineer is able to implement changes while keep the “business running”, support the application regarding changes and disruptions, so risk & security guidelines become an important part of your work. You are free to come up with solutions and you know how to communicate with risk management departments within ING. Knowledge about IT Risk Management (access mgt, password vault, access checks, penetration test, Uat, Fat etc.), compliancy rules, Pipelines. Knowledge of ING risk & compliance policies are an advantage.

Java 8+ and all its features

APIs life cycle management
-
Rest-API, Micro-Services architecture, dispersion services, scalability, DevOps approach

Spring Boot and other Spring modules (Spring core, Spring JDBC and JPA). Also, ING offers a collection of Spring Boot modules, called Merak. You’ll need those too.

Moderate knowledge on Unix, SQL

Experience in Git ,Maven and Gradle

Azure cloud knowledge and Docker experience

Able to create and support CI/CD pipeline for your project

Strong in Design Patterns and Restful webservices

Experience in SQL/Oracle queries writing and tuning (desirable)

Linux, tomcat
-
Design and develop automated tests. Could be any of unit, integration, regression, end-to-end or contract tests

Monitor technical debt, review, redesign, discuss and refactor existing codebase

Suggest, discuss and implement improvements to current design, patterns or technologies we use
Soft skills

Able to identify problems, analyze key information and propose the best solutions

Support feature engineers by translating functional analysis into technical analysis and developments, together with the parties involved

Open to change and working in a fast-paced and Agile environment

Team player

Able to coach junior engineers

Have a proven ability to bring out the best in people and drive the stakeholders and team forward
