Finance Control Officer (Wholesale Banking)

Your role and work environment

As Wholesale Banking Finance Control Officer you play an important role in keeping the bank safe and compliant. Your role is located in the CFO Wholesale Banking Finance department in Amsterdam and you report to the head of Controls & Projects. You will operate in a dynamic global environment with many internal stakeholders.

WB Finance Controls & Projects team has to ensure that Wholesale Banking NL is in control over the figures in financial reports such as the annual accounts and regulatory reports like FINREP and Liquidity Reporting. In addition, the team maintains oversight over the control framework of the Wholesale Bank regions, tracks progress and provides advice with regard to Control topics.

Responsibilities

As Finance Control Officer you have the following key responsibility:

• Being a reliable Business Partner to the WB Banking businesses on SOx404-related topics. Contribute to strengthening of the control framework of Wholesale Banking, both in WB NL and WB Regions.
• Organizing the Sox-404 Sign off process for WB Netherlands and supporting the WB CFO with the Global Business Line Sox Sign-off process.
• Contributing to being compliant on Non-Financial Risk and Compliance related topics
• Taking part in investigations and deep dives related to various finance control matters.
• In addition, you will closely monitor progress on timely execution of controls, and remediation of control defects.
• Involved in creation and preparation of In Control Dashboards both for Wholesale Banking Netherlands and Global Wholesale Bank.
• Participating in analytical reviews of financial and regulatory reports of WB NL businesses.
• Enhancement of Risk & Control awareness within WB Netherlands.

• Master degree in Finance or Economics
• 3-5 years proven track record in Controls (in an in banking, financial institution or audit environment)
• Hands on experience with SOx404
• Good understanding of business processes
• Fluent speaking and writing skills in English
• Strong communicator, can convince with arguments and facts
• Challenging attitude; doesn’t take assumptions for granted, fact based approach
• Flexible and pragmatic: capable of delivering in a changing environment
• Excellent planning and organizing skills
• Develop networks, building long-term relationships.
