We are currently looking for a Medior/Senior Treasury Risk Analyst with a good understanding of market/ALM risk to join the Market Risk Squad of Financial Risk, Treasury & Capital Management team. In this role, you will be doing regular risk monitoring & analysis activities, improve team specific processes as well as contribute to bank-wide internal and regulatory change projects that affect the Treasury business. You will be also reviewing work of junior staff and coach them in day to day business in work related subjects.

Scope and Main Role of the Department

The Financial Risk (FR) department is a head office function that sets and controls financial risk strategy across the organization. The department provides strategic guidance on financial risk (credit, trading, treasury and balance sheet), safeguards regulatory compliance, is responsible for model development for banking, trading and credit risk.

The Treasury Market Risk squad has under its scope Tier 1 risk management for the Treasury & Capital Management Netherlands business as well as Tier 2 risk management for the Treasury activities in ING’s local entities worldwide.

We cover a wide range of subjects within the squad. Below a quick summary of what our work involves:

  • advice & challenge treasury business on their funding, hedging & investment decisions, both for strategic bank-wide and local proposals

  • coordinate the annual review of the Treasury business limits and controls in close cooperation with front office and local risk departments, as well as assess all the intra-year limit change requests and advice senior management

  • ensure treasury risks in ING units are identified & managed within the internally set risk appetites, in compliance with the ING internal policies and regulatory requirements

  • coordinate & execute regulatory & internal changes in treasury target operating systems

Treasury Market Risk team is a head office based, young, energetic & international team consisting of 7 FTE’s. We work in a dynamic environment, trying to balance periodic risk measurement and analysis activities with the rapid changes in the industry and increasing demands from the business, regulators & audits which require us to continuously change, improve our systems, tools & processes.

In daily business as usual, you will be in close cooperation with front office (Group Treasury dealers), other head office & local risk functions and other support teams such as Finance, IT, Operations.

Who are we looking for

Candidates should have strong analytical skills and the ability to create, challenge and improve risk methodologies and monitoring processes.

Candidates with former experience (minimum 5 years) in trading / treasury front office, risk management & product control (market/treasury/ALM) roles will have our preference.

Your profile

  • A university degree in economics, econometrics or other finance/quantitative subjects

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the financial risk, ALM or Treasury area, and familiar with market, liquidity and/or credit risk methodologies and concepts.

  • Good functional understanding of the product groups IRD, FXMM and Fixed Income

  • Good programming skills in order to streamline and automate manual processes (e.g. VBA; Python etc)

  • Good communication skills & a real team player with a pro-active attitude

  • Result-driven and able to push things forward in a persistent and constructive manner

  • Decisive and resilient while remaining flexible towards changing situations

  • Able to manage different stakeholders and navigate different cultural environments

  • Well structured, autonomous, highly adaptive in a fast paced dynamic environment

  • Able to present complex content in easy and transparent way to different stakeholders

  • Fluent in English
