The opportunity

As Senior Compliance Officer Quality Assurance and Monitoring (CQAM) you play an important role in the Quality Assurance and Monitoring activities for ING's Challengers & Growth markets (C&G).

As the senior in the team you take the lead in executing CQAM activities and you provide expert guidance to the other team members and to the C&G country QA teams.
Within the C&G domains, the main activities of the team are i) to perform thematic and process reviews ii) to perform continuous QA on certain key topics iii) to perform compliance framework reviews; iv) to perform oversight on country Key Control Testing (KCT) and QA activities. Besides this you and the team have an important role in ensuring a feedback loop between the team and the other C&G Risk teams.


In this role you will report to the Head of CQAM for C&G. The C&G CQAM team will consist of 6 FTE.

Roles and responsibilities

  • You will contribute to the drafting and finalization of the Annual QA Plan for C&G QA and monitoring team.

  • You will be responsible for the execution and completion of the Annual QA Plan.

  • You will perform quality assurance activities via i) performing continuous QA on key risk activities; ii) performing thematic and process reviews for Compliance topics prioritized by Group and Business line Compliance teams; iii) performing compliance framework reviews; iv) performing oversight on country KCT and QA activities.

  • You support the Head of C&G CQAM in bringing the C&G and CQAM team as well as the country C&G QA teams to the next quality level.

  • You are a content matter expert and decision maker responsible for taking final decisions on Quality Assurance and Monitoring outcomes.

  • You support the Head of C&G CQAM by preparing consolidated reporting on the findings of the team.

  • You contribute to the further development and improvement of ING’s procedures and methodologies in the area of QA.

  • In your role as content matter expert you ensure a feedback loop between your QA team and the country QA and Monitoring teams, ensuring that suggested improvements from the local level are heard by your team and vice versa.

  • You will perform analysis of the country and C&G QA reports and identify key areas of Compliance risk and facilitate root cause analysis and knowledge sharing among the QA teams.

  • You will contribute to reporting of the key activities of the QA team to the relevant Retail and C&G Committee meetings.

  • You will work closely with the Corporate Compliance QA team in matters related to QA framework and methodologies.

Your technical skills and track record

  • You are a seasoned experienced senior manager with > 5 years of relevant experience;

  • You have relevant in-depth expertise and knowledge of the Compliance risk verticals (e.g. Organisational and Market conduct, FCC);

  • Prior experience in a Quality Assurance and/or monitoring related role is preferred;

  • You have experience either at corporate level or operating unit level;

  • You have an university degree or equivalent;

  • You have an excellent level of English (verbal/written);

  • You have excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across functional and geographic lines;

  • You are firm when needed and show flexibility when possible;

  • You have good analytical skills and sound judgement.
