
Policy & Controls Designer (Detecting Financial Crime)
Financial Crime prevention within a leading Dutch bank
The Innovation and Design department designs ABN AMRO’s anti-financial crime framework and improves the effectiveness of its execution through strategic innovations, purposeful design and by challenging the status quo. The Innovation & Design department consists four teams:
• DFC Connect
• Data Science Innovation
• Process Design
• Design Expertise
Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Design Expertise team translates anti-financial crime regulations and legislation into clear, understandable and practical policies, standards and operating procedures for ABN AMRO groupwide. The team consists of the following subdivisions, in total 30 team members:
• The CDD Cluster
• The Program & Solution Squad
• The RBA, Filtering & Monitoring Cluster
For the RBA, Filtering and Monitoring Cluster in Amsterdam we are looking for new team members that design effective operating procedures for client and transaction filtering& monitoring, and who enable the business to mitigate their client integrity risks efficiently.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement bank-wide policies, standard operating procedures and trainings on countering financial crime (e.g. client monitoring, client filtering, transaction filtering and transaction monitoring);
- Design and implement (new) mitigants and controls (e.g. scenarios and/ or supervised and unsupervised models) and management information (e.g. dashboards) to mitigate non-financial risks;
- Advise the business to effectively and efficiently manage their non-financial risks (e.g. in the SIRA and RBA cycles);
- Analyse the exposure of the business to (new) non-financial risks and pro-actively proposing appropriate (new) mitigants.
Preferred Qualifications
• Academic degree required (MSc, PhD, JD preferred);
• 8+ years of experience in compliance, law and/or finance (preferably in the KYC/ CDD domain);
• Possess strong analytical skills;
• Experience in stakeholder management string relationship building activities;
• Team player with an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
• Good communication skills (oral and written) in English;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
