Background

As part of the ING Tech Domain, the mission of Group Services is to support and empower the ING organisation to realise their goals and ambitions by improving our operational excellence, customer experience, and efficiency through the delivery of, innovative, stable and scalable technology solutions.

The TECH Group Services Risk department provides operationally focused technology services and partners directly with CRO functions including, Credit Risk, Asset & Liability Management, Compliance, Non Financial Risk, Reporting, Modelling, Analytics.

MR&A is a delivery Tribe and enables its customers to makethe right decisions for the bank by offering each risk and finance employee apersonalized, unique and streamlinedexperience to enable optimization of ING’sperformance. The IT Area Lead is responsible for the domain and reports to the IT Lead Risk

Key Responsibilities

  • Is end-to-end responsible for cost effective delivery, service quality, risk (within risk in appetite) in line with in-and external requirements, policies and regulations.
  • Is accountable for the alignment of MR&A’s strategy, architecture and technology with the priorities of its business partners and within the overarching Tech strategy.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management. Internal: COO Risk & Finance, Model Development, Model Validation, Financial Risk and other relevant departments. External: Regulators and suppliers
  • Responsible for recruitment, engagement and development of TECH staff within MR&A.
  • Is member of the management team Group Services Risk, reporting to the IT Lead Group ServicesRisk
  • Is accountable for the IT Sourcing, Vendor Relationship of Corporate Services in line with guiding ING regulations for the MR&A domain

Requirements

  • Experienced IT leader with 5+ years’ experience in IT management roles, Master degree in computer sciences or comparable academic education
  • Highly appreciated team player who collaborates easily with business stakeholders and embraces the BizDevOps setup. Has a multicultural mind-set and a highly customer-focussed outlook
  • Proven track record in finding, growing and promoting engineering talent
  • An excellent understanding of how to organise internal software development and operations effectively, stay on top of the trends as technology changes and have strong technical vision for the future
  • Able to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities;
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, as well as outstanding negotiation and change management skills
  • Can demonstrate success in establishing executive relationships and influencing executive decision-making
  • Ability to take responsibility, steer on facts and data; managerial courage to question and make decisions
  • Ability to empower teams to act autonomously, think out of the box and hold them accountable
  • Ability to simplify complexity and drive operational excellence
  • Ability to support yourself and other team members in development
  • Ability to have impact through inspiring and energetic leadership that leads teams through change
  • Excellent level of English
  • Experience in financial and Risk services and Analytics specifically
