Risk Management Specialist for Customer Tax Compliance

ING Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) is looking to hire a Risk Management Specialist for the Customer Tax Compliance (CTC) team. The role focusses on the Compliance and Non-Financial Risk Management of international customer tax laws and regulations as specified below. The position is located in Amsterdam (relocation to the Netherlands is a must), however due to Corona we are all working from home at the moment.

Your work environment

The CTC team is part of the FCC division within the Group Compliance department (2nd line of defense). The CTC team is responsible for the following international customer tax laws and regulations: US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), OECD Common Reporting Standard (CRS), US withholding tax and information reporting (including QI regime), and Mandatory Disclosure Rules (EU Directive DAC6).

The team works with key internal stakeholders and offers an environment which provides a global overview of how the relevant CTC requirements and controls are embedded within the business. The environment also provides you with the opportunity to actively work on Compliance change initiatives and take responsibility/steer for CTC in those.

What you’ll do as Risk Management Specialist CTC

  • Add value to the CTC team with your Compliance/Non-Financial Risk Management knowledge and experience and knowledge of banking business processes;

  • Develop and support the implementation of the Compliance/Non-Financial Risk Management for CTC related risks and requirements;

  • Understand the CTC risks (FATCA/CRS/US Withholding/DAC6), recognize where these risks can be relevant and align with experts in the team;

  • Contribute to/lead change (sub-)projects in the fields of Non-Financial Risk and Compliance.

Experience & Skills

  • University degree;

  • Knowledge of banking business, processes, procedures and systems;

  • 5-10+years of experience in a compliance, risk management and/or change management environment;

  • Strong knowledge of non-financial risk management activities such as conducting risk (self) assessments, key control testing, working with risk frameworks, issue management, non-financial risk reporting;

  • Knowledge of/or affinity with international customer tax laws and regulations (FATCA/CRS/US Withholding/DAC6);

  • Knowledge of iRisk (IBM OpenPages) is an advantage;

  • Excellent level of English (verbal/written); fluency in Dutch is an advantage;

  • Flexibility: adjusts approach, seeks different paths in a targeted manner; and

  • Hands-on mentality.
