At a glance

In your consultancy role at the Management Control & Regulations (MC&R) team within the Processes & Control (P&C) department you are dedicated to first line risk management. We see first line risk management as maintaining and improving the integrity of Private Banking’s (PB) processes, employees and clients. As a Non-Financial Risk Specialist you monitor the PB Risk Control Framework to safeguard overall compliance with the appropriate internal and external regulations to protect our license to operate.

Your job

Working at MC&R is a great opportunity to contribute to strategic decision making within the business, looking at risks as well as opportunities. Basically we balance specialistic risk skills and commercial skills with strategic management, analyses and oversight of risks across the business line and the bank.
You are challenged to handle complexity and to easily manage varying topics simultaneously. You are successful in stakeholder management and know how to ensure others take ownership. You are an expert on matters related to all risk areas both Financial and Non-Financial risk, including compliance -, operational -, and sustainability risks. You will deal with the (follow up of) audit issues and related quality improvement in line with legal frameworks, regulations and guidelines of regulators. You support the business by providing advice, by designing, monitoring, implementing and securing the first line of defence.
You constantly strive to strike the right balance between the client’s interests, the bank’s interests, and the applicable legislation and regulations. You like to follow relevant internal and external developments within your discipline. You are able to translate these developments into expert advice for the business and act as a sparring partner for second and third line of defence. You are a team player that is enthusiastic to maintain and improve a solid risk framework for the Private Bank.

Working environment

P&C aims to safeguard the private bank’s license to operate, it guides and executes change. Within P&C, MC&R is responsible for first line risk management. It works as a central team for Private Banking in all countries (as coordinator for the international locations France, Germany and Belgium, and as operational MC&R team for the Netherlands). It analyses the PB risk dashboards and acts on signals, detects patterns requiring actions and ensures actions are taken. MC&R provides advice from a business perspective on the overall policy framework of PB and acts as knowledge centre for regulatory topics. It acts as a linking pin between the three lines of defence (business, risk/compliance, audit).
You work in a team of 9 people (MC&R) and 20-25 people in P&C, an open and dynamic work environment. You are in direct contact with MT members and colleagues in NL and abroad for MC&R deliverables. There is a constant vibe of collaboration with the PB countries and a large variety of stakeholders.

Your profile

• You have multi-year risk management experience. If you also bring financial risk management experience that would be very useful
• You are used to think and act in a project way. And at the same time deal with a diversity of subjects.
• You are good at managing your (foreign) stakeholders.
• You are critical and come to your own, well-founded conclusions by thinking carefully.
• You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages.

The salary range is Eur 63k - 88k all in gross per year based on a 36 hour work week. 40 hours is also possible.
