ING is looking for an information security consultant (security assessment services)

Criminals only need to be right once, while we have to be always vigilant to be able to stop the ever-evolving threat actors. As a security professional, you have the mindset of an adversary to challenge the overall global security for ING, including people, processes, and technology.

You will be part of the security assessment services (SAS) Team within the Global CISO office.

We focus on strengthening the IT Security strategy of the bank and keeping it sharp to meet the cyber security challenges and ensure ING is focusing on areas of absolute relevance when it comes to preventive and detective measures. Security Assessment Services (SAS) is the team that combines defining global standards with a hands-on approach to constantly ensure ING's resilience against actual attacks.

You will be working in a highly specialized team focused on core concepts of cyber security. Your colleagues have a proven track record of building thought leadership in the field of cyber security. The activities take place in a multicultural team with a global scope where the standard language is English.

Analytic mind, make-it-happen mentality to IT security, and proven cyber security track record are prerequisites for this role.

Who are you?

  • Education level: Bachelor or Master's degree.
  • Passionate about the field of cyber security/resilience.
  • Minimal 3 years of experience in information security and experience in at least two of: red teaming engagements, pentesting, or corporate information security management.
  • Have a thorough understanding of security testing methodologies.
  • Independent thinker with functional and technical ability to execute follow-up and advise where necessary on identified gaps.
  • Able to operate at an advanced level of written and spoken communication, including writing professional reports and making corporate-style powerpoint presentations to explain findings.
  • Seamless ability to communicate technical issues in a business language.
  • consulting on security operations in an international environment.
  • Analyze and contribute to performance indicators and quality.
  • You are an enthusiastic, social, ambitious team member to add value to our team and department.
  • Familiar with agile / scrum.
  • Prior experience working for a bank, government, Big -4 or defence agency is a plus.
  • One or more certifications (CISSP, CISM or CCSP) are a big plus.

Job description:

In your daily job, you will;

  • Focus on planning, preparing, and coordinating global security initiatives related to security testing.
  • Maintain and develop security guidelines, procedures, standards, and controls documentation for our security testing services.
  • Guide towards best practices, industry standards, and solutions to assure quality and continuous improvement of our security testing capabilities.
  • Ensure follow-up on security findings to ensure they are mitigated on time.
  • Have a helicopter view and determine priorities based on context across teams, business units, and domains and deliver individually or in a small group.
  • Develop and maintain trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Pro-actively contribute to the vision and the roadmap of the team to keep ING secure.
  • Act as an expert towards the wider organization and contribute to the continuous development of the team. You are involved in training and coaching on the job – receiving as well as providing it to colleagues
