Position: Customer Journey Expert


The Global CISO organisation of ING is responsible to assist ING management, business and other tribes in providing customer friendly services in a safe and secure way. Business leaders and CISO are jointly responsible for bank-wide security. CISO is mandated to drive required change in all domains, business and IT.

The Customer Journey Expert (CJE) initiates or epics / features to develop and improve the customer and user experience. As an expert, he or she will deliver all the necessary business know how and skills within the squad to realise the squads shared purpose, day by day.

Key Responsibilities

The CJE is responsible for

  • Performing an analysis on data leakage questions within ING, aligning the outcome of required controls with relevant stakeholders in ING and presenting the direction and decisions to senior management
  • Acting as the overall process expert and support the Chief Product Owner for DLP
  • Reporting on progress and risks of the analysis of the analysis activities to the Head of Security Detection and Response and other stakeholders

Audit & Compliance

  • Taking into account relevant compliance aspects of products/services to applicable standards and regulation


Proven track record and technical skills:

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity , computer science or comparable degree
  • 10-15 years’ professional experience and relevant information security & fraud management experience. Ideally in larger companies and corporate consulting experience.
  • Subject matter expert in the area of Information Security. Certifications like CISSP, CRISC and CISM are highly recommended. CISA, RE and other specific information security or fraud management certifications are considered useful
  • Solid understanding of (security) data analytics, quantitative modelling of data and data research
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering security services, e.g. security monitoring, incident and crisis management, threat intelligence etc.
  • Strong knowledge of current security technologies and emerging trends in this area
  • Good understanding of finance aspects and budgeting cycle
  • Working knowledge of pertinent law and regulations
  • Expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as good negotiation and change management skills
  • Can demonstrate success in establishing relationships and influencing decision-making
  • Ability to take responsibility, steer strategy and realisations based on facts and data; managerial courage to question and make decisions
  • Ability to empower teams to act autonomously, think out of the box and hold them accountable
  • Ability to simplify complexity and drive operational excellence
  • Ability to support yourself and other team members in development
  • Excellent level of English
  • Experience in a financial environment is a plus
