To help us succeed we are looking for a great Oracle Capacity Engineer who can help us get better insight i n our database environment.

Your working environment: TechInfra DBaa S (Database as a Service)
DBaa S is one of the main environments contributing to the Think Forward Strategy. It’s the first step toward helping ING produce the same products and services throughout the entire world.

DBaa S provides and maintains a database platform based on Oracle in an automated fashion . We enable applications teams to spend more of their time delivering new application feature s by taking away the burden of managing their database (patching, upgrade etc ) .

As Oracle Engineer within DBaaS y ou will be part of a bigger set of teams wh o create high quality D B aa S Cloud Services for our ING consumers worldwide. Your daily activities include monitoring and reporting on the Exadata resources that is used to pro vide our consumer s with a highly available and stable performant platform. You have demystified the art of capacity management and provide answers to questions like how much business growth we can support and where should we focus our investments to increase capacity and decrease costs.

Y our “backpack” should contain s

  • 5+ years of Experience with Oracle Database technologies including but not limited to ;

  • RAC and Dataguard installations

  • Exadata

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager

  • Database virtualization

  • Experience with Capacity management for Database platforms

  • Well versed in Azure Devops, CD/CI tools and pipelines.

  • Good knowledge of ExaData

  • Linux RHEL experience

  • Scripting experience with e.g Python, Bash

  • Exposure of Virtualization / Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP

  • Knowledge of Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Puppet.

  • Familiar with Agile / Scrum methodology.

  • Strong Team Player and Experience in working with teams cross countries.

Your education and background

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technolog y

  • E xpert in a DBaa S environment

  • Experience with working in high performing Agile Database platform team

  • Certifications and/or proven proficiency in one or more technologies requested

  • Good understanding of English
