The Product

InsideBusiness is ING's digital banking platform that provides a single point of access to a growing range of wholesale banking products and services around the globe. InsideBusiness allows wholesale customers such as multinational corporations or governments to access a range of products and services such as payments, cash management, financial markets, lending and trade finance.

What you'll do

  • You will be a member of Impulse squad and work together with 4-6 young, talented engineers which are based in Amsterdam and abroad. The team works in an Agile fashion and takes end-to-end responsibility of the full lifecycle of an application - from requirements engineering all the way up to running software in production
  • Impulse squad is mostly responsible for back-end applications but also providing front end solutions. So, you will be working as a full stack engineer.

You are expected to:

  • Provide high quality solutions by leveraging your knowledge on best practices of software engineering to maintain existing applications and implement new requirements.
  • Combine your software development activities with CI/CD pipeline development in Azure DevOps and contribute to all phases of application lifecycle.
  • Contribute/jointly set and implement the software development standards for the department (Tribe).

How to succeed

  • Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including web front end assignments
  • Excellent knowledge of Java 8+ including Spring framework 4.x/5.x and Spring Boot 2.x. Having experience with Kotlin is a plus
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby etc)
  • Good understanding and hands-on experience with DevOps practices such as containerization, version control (Git), CI/CD practices, test automation and monitoring. Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus
  • Good understanding of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • You keep yourself up to date with the latest trends and like to try everything out and experiment
  • You can explain technical problems and their impact to both engineers and business
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
