Your role and work environment

As the Global Change Execution Competent [GCP], you drive ING’s changes in an effective and efficient way in order to realise ING’s strategy and it’s regulatory obligations. Your focus will be on the execution of large cross border and cross functional change initiatives. For this specific role your gravity of expertise sits in Wholesale Banking (Financial Markets, Transaction Services, Lending) . The scope of Change Execution covers both design and implementation.

You create value by taking responsibility for changing the bank in a coherent way, actively managing the interdependencies between your and other change initiatives.

You make connections between current events and the corporate strategy and/or the longer-term vision. You ensure that a common strategy (tribe specific) to support the complex change or transition agenda is created and documented in close alignment with the respective stakeholders/tribes/business partners/external influencers. You are part of developing the strategy/ mission. You work on the purpose together with senior management.

You manage the detailed (local and global) delivery roadmap and the stages towards the target solution, and conduct impact assessments and impact analysis. You prepare and facilitate decision making and agreements, and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are involved on local and global level. By doing this you leverage the structure and the competencies of the various tribes involved to the max.

You monitor progress of the delivery of the theme and solution. You anticipate to possible impediments and guide interventions with leads and stakeholders (including the preparations and the agreements of the WB Transformation Board / QBR process). You adjust roadmap/solution in response to changing needs and gear between high level portfolio roadmap and investment theme.

You continuously develop your change craftsmanship to higher change execution standards. You will proactively anticipate dependencies and collaboration with the parties that need to contribute to a specific implementation, without relying on hierarchical structure or formal committees to do so.

You have a competent understanding and experience of Wholesale Banking business, Regulations , IT and the corresponding end to end processes.

Your key responsibilities

  • You have a competent understanding and experience of Wholesale Banking
  • You provide input for and actively contributes to developing the strategy/mission. You challenge the process of development of strategy/ mission.
  • You challenge customer needs / business needs and are involved in, and challenges, the business case underlying the transition agenda to determine if the vision is fit for purpose.
  • You challenge the current status and end goal and adjust if necessary or escalate.
  • You optimize by working in collaboration and addresses gaps immediately
  • You create the organisation of the high level solution, assesses to the purpose and change outcome.
  • You facilitate workshops to define epics and themes and allocate tasks and responsibilities to stakeholders.
  • You define the (integrated) (multi-year) cross border and cross functional roadmap and the stages towards the target solution, and conduct both impact assessments and impact analysis.
  • You align epics to the agreed investment theme roadmap of the tribes and identify interdependencies.
  • You stress the collective goal/interests and you guide change teams, give direction and take decisions for the teams in complex and/or uncertain situations.
  • You prepare and facilitate decision making and agreements, and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are involved across units.
  • You monitor progress of the delivery of the epic/theme and solution.
  • You anticipate to possible impediments and guide interventions with leads and stakeholders (including the preparations and the agreements of the QBR process).
  • You adjust roadmap/solution in response to changing needs , gear between high level epic and feature and effectively communicate changes.
  • You must reach agreements with stakeholders from outside the tribe, which may also be non-ING stakeholders.
  • You challenge and inspire on purpose and solution, persuade fact based to come to the most effective roadmap.
  • You fine tune with other parts of ING to get a clear overview of the interdependencies and connect leads and stakeholders when needed.
  • You make an optimal use of your professional network in and outside ING.
  • You support the process of learning to help others to be successful.
  • You mentor the capability levels of “Novice” “Advanced Beginners” in professional development and make time to do so. Masters communication skills and strong questioning skills.
  • You act as a role model for team member by guiding behavioural change and leveraging on interventions to lead the way.
  • You provide feedback to managers of the people involved in the change on skills in areas of improvement
  • You participate actively in knowledge sharing activities inside and outside ING like community meetings or contributing to knowledge networks.
  • You stimulate the team to collect and share best practices.
  • You tailor and translate gained knowledge from different experiences to a specific situation.
  • You strengthen the ING One Agile Way of Working by leveraging the concept to change from within the bank i.e. you leverage the capabilities of Tribes as much as possible

We are looking for

An inspiring, energetic & approachable change professional displaying the following behaviours:

  • Ability to drive complex WB design issues to a conclusion in close collaboration with Tribes and enterprise architects.

  • Ability to drive and deliver complex (multi-year) change programs on program level – covering multiple countries / functional departments

Proven track record and technical skills:

  • Master degree.
  • Proven record of relevant change execution experience preferably with international exposure.
  • A personality and the capabilities to function effectively within an Agile environment. Competent knowledge of Wholesale Banking is a plus. Competent knowledge of WB and its corresponding IT landscape and end to end processes is required .
  • Proficient expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary initiatives.
  • Proven experience in large transformation programs with high impact.
  • Excellent level of English.
