Internship Equity Capital Markets Syndicate (Amsterdam)

Position

ING’s Equity Capital Markets Syndicate team currently has a vacant internship position with starting date as per December 2021 / January 2022 with a duration of 5 to 6 months (to be agreed upon).

ING’s Equity Capital Markets team

Equity Capital Markets (ECM) is part of the Corporate Finance (CF) department and advises companies on equity raising on international stock markets. Products covered by ECM include Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), follow-on equity issuances and secondary offerings (i.e. rights issues or accelerated bookbuild offering), share buybacks, preference shares issuances and equity-linked transactions (convertible bonds). Together with our Financial Markets teams (i.e. Equity Research, Equity Sales, Sales & Trading, Corporate Access, and more), we originate, structure, execute and distribute equity and equity-linked deals to institutional investors (e.g. pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, hedge funds) and Benelux retail investors.

ECM Syndicate is an integral part of the ECM team and is responsible for market execution and distribution of global ECM deals. The Syndicate desk can be seen as linking pin between relevant stakeholders such as the issuer, CF and Financial Markets teams, and institutional investors. Our team is located in Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working for the ECM Syndicate team in Amsterdam with a focus on high-profile European ECM deals
  • Tracking the markets, preparing presentations, conducting research on industries, sectors and companies
  • General origination support, e.g. providing market intelligence reports and real-time data, assisting with pitches
  • Communication with local Equity Research, Sales & Trading and Sales teams regarding global deals
  • Assist in organisation of (pre-)marketing for global ECM transactions
  • Assist in organisation of pre-launch activities for global ECM transactions
  • Execution of share buyback and disposal transactions
  • Deal administration for global ECM deals

Who are we looking for?

Suitable candidates are ambitious university students (Master or final year of Bachelor) with background in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration or STEM. Applicant is passionate and highly interested in capital markets. Our preferred candidate has great problem-solving skills, good judgement, strong attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work efficiently and quickly in a fast-paced deal environment. Besides, our candidate is an ideal teamplayer who is energetic and proactive, can make a difference and is ready to go the extra mile for the team.
