The purpose of innovation for ING Innovation is at the heart of ING’s Think Forward strategy. In a world that is changing quicker than ever before, we focus on accelerating ING towards a bank that still matters in a few years from now by changing our way of working. This is all about transforming the way we develop new products and services and making sure we bring only relevant solutions to the market fast.

Global Centre of Expertise Innovation

The mission of ING Neo is to accelerate change and innovate for ING clients and ING itself. The Global Centre of Expertise Innovation, part of ING Neo, is focused on embedding our innovation methodology called PACE (combining Lean Startup, Design Thinking and Agile) globally across ING and scale local innovation expertise. In order to be able to increase the pace of innovation we need to strengthen the innovation capabilities in ING.

PACE is a structured innovation process where we continuously validate with customers if we create the right product or service for them. This empowers teams to work more customer centric by integrating the voice of the customer into key routines and processes and hereby reduce the time to market of minimal viable products. PACE enables professionals in ING to uncover real customer needs and validate possible solutions through experimentation so that they can make evidence based decisions.

New toolkit, providing digital support on how to use PACE, is under construction

The PACE toolkit guides teams through the product development process and helps to determine where they are in that process. It also provides guidance in which tools and techniques to use in the PACE stages. An MVP has now been developed and will be soft launched in March 2021. This launch will allow us to further develop it based on the data we collect on the usage and usability. In this way we aim to work towards a a global standard that can be used by a large group of users and allows for easy maintenance and updating content.

Your challenge is to improve the MVP and get ready for a global roll-out

The challenge is to help further develop this new PACE toolkit in ING. There will be lots of opportunities in defining with the team and based on data how this needs to be done. In order to get there you will work in close collaboration with PACE and UX experts as well as the Touch Point Architecture (TPA) team. You will be supporting the IT-development . As a trusted team member in the PACE team you will be working together with different stakeholders. Frequent communication and collaboration with the TPA team will be key to ensure success of this toolkit, thereby contributing to our team end goal of 100% of most relevant tribes apply PACE.
