Are you up for a challenge? Help us get our internal communications about the ING Digital Workplace future-proof!

This means two things:

1. Prepare the switch from old to new channels
ING is continuously improving her services to make them as user friendly as possible. This also applies to internal services. New tools and features are implemented continuously to help colleagues make the most of their digital workplace. As part of this transition, we have recently moved our communities to Yammer. An as of the fourth quarter of 2021 the current ING intranet will be updated and moved to a new platform. This is a perfect opportunity for our team to rethink our current channels, structure and content.

2. Content creation for the My Digital Workplace Newsletter and the Digital Workplace Hub site
An important task for Workplace Service is the introduction of new (Microsoft 365) tools. But we certainly don’t forget the next step: help our colleagues to work with the those tools. One way to do this is to create snackable, short content to get their interest. We are looking for an intern who can help us with creating newsletters, news items and other content.

Who are we?
We are Workplace Services (WPS): the department that’s responsible for the delivery of IT-related workplace products and services to 54.000 ING colleagues in 40 countries. Think computers, Wi-Fi, software, telephones, and of course the support for all of these.

Are we looking for you?
We are looking for a communication intern:

  • with knowledge how to setup and manage an online community;
  • who knows that structure is as important as content;
  • who is creative in finding out and testing new ways to help activate and involve our colleagues;
  • who likes to think about the best way to get a message across and write (and visualise) fun, short and desirable content.

Are you that proactive marketing or communications intern who wants to learn the ropes in a diverse and dynamic setting?

If so, you will be part of our Workplace Services team for at least three to six months, starting in September 2021 or as soon as possible.

There will be lots of opportunities to try out new ideas! You will help improve our end user communications and make our channels and activities future-proof. Workplace Services is a uniquely pivotal ING department where no day is the same.

What you’ll be doing

  • Activate the new My Workplace community on Yammer. Stimulate colleagues to use Yammer the same way they used the old community.
  • Help Workplace Services to prepare for the switch to the new intranet environment: advise about the new structure of WPS content, help update the content itself, guide the migration.
  • Write and create the New Digital Workplace newsletter in which new tools and features are introduced.
  • Create weekly news items for our SharePoint HUB site. This can be in text, video or images.
  • Share any other ideas on how we could use modern channels to improve our end user communications!

Your profile

  • You are a bachelor or master student in the field of communications, languages, marketing or related studies.
  • You live in The Netherlands.
  • You know how to write attractive and understandable content about sometimes complicated (technical) topics.
  • You have affinity with IT and the latest (cross media) technologies.
  • You are independent, ambitious and result-driven.
  • You are pragmatic, proactive, and you enjoy coming up with new ideas.
  • You work in an accurate and structured manner.
  • You are an enthusiastic team player.
  • You are fluent in English. Dutch is a pre.

What we offer

  • 32hours internship for three to six months.
  • You will be part of a small enthusiastic and dedicated team.
  • A dynamic, international environment where you can learn at a fast pace.
  • A great chance to develop yourself as an online community manager and adoption expert and learn about internal communications at a high level.
  • Internship allowance and travel compensation.
