The Group Compliance department is looking for a talented Human Resource intern

ING Group Compliance is looking to hire a People & Processes intern to support the Functional Processes team with the execution of the onboarding activities for Group Compliance.

As an intern, your purpose is contributing to the onboarding process that supports the global compliance community with structured, aligned and effective onboarding initiatives and tools as well. You will report to and work closely with the Lead Functional Processes and the Junior Business Consultant.


  • You take ownership of the onboarding process within the Compliance department and the communication of onboarding activities, such as the new joiners announcement;

  • You support with communication projects, such as the Online Community & the Newsletter;

  • You support the Functional processes team with projects and events;

During this internship, the People & Processes intern will :

  • Understand how the HR process (onboarding, learning & development, evaluation process for employees) in a corporate organisation is.

  • learn about Business challenges and solutions

  • Understand how the onboarding process works

  • Gain knowledge about the financial sector and especially about compliance activities

  • Improve your PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Understand how change management (communication, coaching) and project management are important.

Your work environment

  • The Integrated Compliance team including the Functional Processes team, is part of the Group Compliance department (based at ING head office in Amsterdam)

  • The IC team is working together based on knowledge and expertise, as well as the skill set needed to best perform the job

  • The team is working with key internal stakeholders and offers an environment which provides a global overview on how the relevant IC requirements and controls are embedded within the business, and provides an opportunity to manage relationships with external stakeholders, regulators and supervisory institutions

  • It is a young team that was established in 2020, that is building and creating things as they go – providing a safe ground for experiment and new initiatives.

How to succeed

  • You have an interest in financial services and banking in particular;

  • You study at HBO or university level in Human Resource Management or Communications;

  • You have good communication, writing and presentation skills;

  • You are fluent in English (verbal/written),;

An internship of approx.32-hours per week (working on a relevant research or other graduation project for your education is an option, but working on the job for 3 days a week is a minimum). The minimum period for an internship at ING is 3 months, and the location is ING Amsterdam (currently working from home is required).
