HBO/WO Internship HR COO

The Global HR COO team is looking for an enthusiastic student whom wants to learn more about HR at ING and is eager to support the design and organisation of an inhouse management programme. This might be something for you if you are up for a challenge!

Some facts:
•Internship duration: around 6 months (start date flexible but preferable March 1st 2020)
•Location: New ING building (Cedar), Bijlmerdreef 106, Amsterdam
•Working hours: 32 hours (4 days)
•This is a paid internship

As an intern, you will join an ambitious team and support increasing the added value of HR within COO. One of the main initiatives of HR COO you will work on is the COOBLA (COO Business Leadership Academy). This programme is organised every year for selected key people within COO. To make the programme of 2020 even more successful, we are looking you!

Your working environment

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for setting the bank wide operational and security standards; he drives operational excellence and Information Security effectiveness across the bank. You will work as part of the Global HR COO team consisting of the HRD COO, HR Business manager COO and HRBPs supporting their own domain. Furthermore you interact with colleagues from HR Communities of Expertise (CoE’s) as well as colleagues from different business lines within COO. A selection of activities:

  • Define and support the process of nominating and inviting employees for the COOBLA
  • Design the programme together with HRPB’s, sponsors
  • Organise the programma both from a logistic as well as content perspective, both need to be ezcellent in order for the participants to get the most out of it
  • Support HRBP’s with a number of HR processes such as Performance management, Annual talent review, Diversity & Inclusion etc.
  • Work with the team on people metrics and translate these into insights to increase data driven decision making
  • Design and organise several events aiming to attract and develop talents in the COO domain

Your profile

  • You are registered as a student at the University or HBO doing a Organization/ Human Resources or related study
  • You are fluent in English (Dutch is not required)
  • You are structured
  • You have a drive to work in an international environment
  • You are enthusiastic, eager, hard-working and have a “hands-on” mentality
  • You adhere to the ING values and it is evident that your behaviour fully aligns with these values: The Orange Code

Documents

Two documents are required for your application to be complete:

The Motivation List (max. one A4 page): a list of reasons as to why you fit the job description, why we should hire you, and why you are motivated to be the new intern. The Curriculum Vitae (CV): Your CV (max. two A4 pages) should include relevant education, work experience, skills, and/or extracurricular activities that will support your Motivation List and overall application.

Selection Process

Once we have received your documents, we will start the first round of selection.

First round of selection

During the first round of selection, the team will select applicants based on their curriculum vitae and letter of motivation. If you have been selected for the interview, you will receive an email with an invitation.

Interview

During the interview you will be asked questions based on your CV and Letter of Motivation. Further questions may be asked based on your answer to the questions regarding these documents. In addition, some general interview questions may be asked.

Outcome of the selection process

After your interview has been concluded, you will receive feedback from the team including the outcome of the selection process.
