The International Talent Programme (ITP) Team at ING is looking for a new intern. We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Sciences student to work at the Talent & Learning department of ING Global. If you are currently enrolled as a Bachelor/Master student of a Social Sciences program at the University, this might be something for you!

Some facts:

· Internship duration: around 10 months (starting asap until beginning of November 2020)

· Location: Cedar building, Bijlmerdreef, Amsterdam

· Working hours: 24-36 hours per week (minimum of 3 days per week)

· You are expected to attend 3 events during your internship: Connect (March 2020), Perform (June 2020) and Inspire (October 2020)

· This is a paid internship

Job Description

As an intern of the ITP team, you have various roles. Some expectations include that you assist in logistics, event-management and content-related processes. You are also encouraged to take on your own project.

Former Intern’s Experience (Cara Oerlemans):

The ITP Team consists of friendly, hard-working people who are always busy. As a team we organize three learning events for ITP trainees during the year. My personal responsibilities include the set-up of the Event App, sending out invitations to stakeholders and trainees, and other logistic-related tasks. As an intern you are also encouraged to work on your own project. I decided to become involved with the trainee mentoring programme. I am currently working on this project by matching trainees with more senior employees to give them guidance and support with their development goals. During my 9 months on the team I have learned a great deal about the Human Resources (HR) department from both a local and Global perspective. My internship helped me to achieve personal learning goals and I feel that I could really contribute to the process of creating tomorrow’s banking leaders.

Documents

Two documents are required for your application to be complete:

1. The Motivation List (max. one A4 page – in English): a list of reasons as to why you fit the job description, why we should hire you, and why you are motivated to be the new intern.

2. The Curriculum Vitae (CV): Your CV (max. two A4 pages- in English) should include relevant education, work experience, skills, and/or extracurricular activities that will support your Motivation List and overall application.

Your working environment

The ITP is a four-year graduate programme. You will work as part of the ITP team to provide trainees with a structured level of training and guidance to open up exciting growth opportunities; both personal and professional. The ITP allows trainees to choose one of the eight Tracks; Retail Banking (RB), Wholesale Banking (WB), Finance, Risk, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), Operations & Change (Ops&Change) or Analytics. In addition, we also provide them with the opportunity to gain Core Banking Skills (CBS) and Personal Skills (PS). It offers them the opportunity to become one of our future Orange Leaders and leading bankers who are self-aware and achieve sustainable results with and for our customers.

Your profile

· You have to be registered as a student at the University

· You are studying Psychology or Human Resources and/or are interested in Work and Organization/ Human Resources

· Fluent in English (Dutch is not required)

· You are able to work on long-term goals and you are organized

· You have a drive to work in an international environment

· You are enthusiastic, hard-working and have a “hands-on” mentality

· You adhere to the ING values and it is evident that your behaviour fully aligns with these values: The Orange Code

First round of selection

During the first round of selection, the team will select applicants based on their curriculum vitae and letter of motivation. An email will then be sent to applicants with their outcome of the first round of selection. If you have been selected for the interview, you will receive an email with an invitation.

Interview

During the interview you will be asked questions based on your CV and Letter of Motivation. Further questions may be asked based on your answer to the questions regarding these documents. In addition, some general interview questions may be asked.

Second round of selection

After your interview has been concluded, you will receive feedback from the team including the outcome of the selection process.
