Open Banking Customer Journey Expert
Are you the energetic Customer Journey Expert with an innovative vision, who loves the unknown, with affection with Open Banking, API technology and a great deal of realisation power to develop and implement ING’s Developer Portal to accelerate innovation and improve customer experience? ING’s Open Banking Program has been created to help the bank realise its Platform and Open Banking vision. We believe that Open Banking will help ING to further stimulate innovation and cooperation with third parties, including FinTechs, and explore new business models.
ING’s Developer Portal is a key, foundational element in our Open Banking journey. This digital platform will support the search for improved customer experiences and new business models through open API technology.


The Open Banking team also ensures a solid framework and clear rules-of-the-game for the new business models generation and offers advice and support in designing and managing the Open Banking portfolio.


Your role and work environment
As the all-round Customer Journey Expert, you are representing the voice of the customer, have a strong vision on how to attract consumers and producers to our platform and focus on continuously improving the journeys we are offering.
• You support the development, implementation and communication of the roadmap
• You support the defining of all business requirements for the development of the Developer Portal with all relevant stakeholders
• You co-manage and prioritise the backlog at the level of user stories, derived from features
• You apply your experience in building and managing the platform ecosystem, including the needed process design and implementation and business operations and services to Third Parties
• You will support the business API gatekeeper for the Developer Portal and as such refine the Open Banking Strategy
• Understanding of API’s and client needs, bridging IT and business
• You have client experience and understand the voice of the customer to build a community and boost brand awareness by organising and participating in roundtables, events in close cooperation with the Open Banking strategy team
• By working with Risk, Compliance, and Legal stakeholders, you co-manage the terms and conditions of our platform
• You have experience with defining customer journeys and are excited to apply these within the context of our platform
• You support the competitive analysis on regular basis
• You are creative and an out-of-the box thinker who likes to work in a multidisciplinary team in an agile environment

What do we expect from you?
• You are passionate about (product) innovation in financial technology, love to connect business and IT, and have affinity with Open Banking and (API) platforms
• You love the unknown and love to work in a fast paced, agile environment
• You are an energetic, motivating person who can work independently and who also can work as part of a team, think and act out of the box and take accountability
• You have excellent communication skills
• You support in maintaining global ING contacts, external contacts and contacts with other ING departments
• Ability to understand the broader landscape of ING across segments (retail and wholesale), across countries and regions
• Gaining a profound understanding of the market, incl. third party developers, and our customers and translate this to the best in class client experience
• Implementing the strategy taking ING’s priorities and customer’s expectations into consideration
• Understand and apply business principles and external regulation
• You have strong realisation power, are confident, persistent and take initiative
• You are analytically strong with a creative brain
• You make things happen thanks to your ‘can do’ attitude and excellent planning and organisational skills
• You are fluent in English
• You have a Master’s degree or similar by experience, with 1 to 4 years’ relevant experience
