ING is looking for a Continuous Listening Expert (Senior Consultant, People Analytics)!

Do you believe people are the most important asset in achieving organizational success? Then this might be the position for you! We believe that, if we want to be successful, we need to understand what drives our people and how we can enable them to achieve our common goals. Collecting this information and translating it into actionable insight that is exactly what ‘Continuous Listening’ does!

We are looking for a ‘Continuous Listening’ Expert, to join our Global Community of Expertise People Analytics. We are a young team, rapidly developing ING’s People Analytics capability across the group. Our purpose is to ensure people decisions at ING are driven by facts. The team applies advanced analytical techniques to provide data driven insights on what really matters to employees (continuous listening) and which human capital investments really drive business results. The team sits within the Global HR organisation, in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Your role

ING is currently establishing a Continuous Listening (CL) framework in order to ‘gain a continuous sense of how our people are doing and how they perceive our strategic objectives’. Continuous Listening provides standardized, scaled, scientifically robust measures that have a proven link to the overall ING strategy to generate actionable insights for senior management in times of intense change. Therefore we measure important indicators such as employee engagement, organisational health & (perceived) leadership capabilities. As a Continuous Listening expert you will be the content owner; ensuring high quality and relevant content development. Today is particularly an exciting time to join! Since the overall framework is still being finalized you will still have ample opportunity to develop this exciting concept, content and its tools.

We value your consultancy and communication skills as much as your analytical skills!

You are able to secure the successful implementation of Continuous Listening, by being sensitive to the distinctive needs our business, by dealing confidently with senior stakeholders, by liaising with different departments and gathering together all the necessary resources, by communicating results into the precise, easy-to-understand outcomes, and by making sure analytical insights are translated into a meaningful direction and advice for (senior) Management.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Manage (end-to-end) ‘listening’ initiatives and provide overall quality assurance:
  • Validate survey methodologies and content (which requires understanding of psychometrics and sampling methodologies);
  • Manage the survey portfolio (incl. Global Surveys and the Repository) - ensuring and maintaining alignment across the different surveys and responsibility for implementation;
  • Ensure timely launch, collection, analysis and reporting of global surveys;;
  • Build and implement the survey repository (an alternative for local, ad-hoc surveys), ensuring alignment to the overall CL principles;
  • Clarify, together with our analytics team, the underlying analytical model and relation to overall business performance in order to create relevance for business managers;
  • Establish continuous feedback and improvement loops to constantly develop and ensure cutting edge development of our listening initiatives
  • Provide content input and expertise for program bodies (e.g. SteerCo, investment committee, etc.);
  • Drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication / change strategy and planning;
  • Build and embed the Continuous Listening global community in order to ensure a continued business relevance and value-add of the CL framework for ING;
  • Push for rapid and effective tool selection to support data collection and analysis in line with CL- and organization (IT, procurement, legal) principles.

    Key Capabilities/Experience

  • You have a Master degree in Organizational or Social Behavioural Science and affinity with analytics and survey design;
  • You have at least 7 years of relevant work experience – preferably in the international consultancy or financial services sector;
  • You demonstrated the ability to execute a complex, international agenda or initiative;
  • You have solid knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistical analysis (e.g., psychometrics, sampling methodologies);
  • You are able to think conceptually and are able to make impact and drive strategic decision making;
  • You easily partner with senior leaders to drive results;
  • You have excellent English communication skills and are able to craft findings and recommendations into the business language of your stakeholders;
  • You thrive in a demanding international work environment.

What do we have to offer you?

  • Great conditions in a full-time position based in Amsterdam;
  • 40 hours;
  • Job scale 11 or 12 (HR Expert Consultant B or HR Expert Consultant A);
  • Top level People Analytical projects & the opportunity to be part of building a world class analytics team;
  • High degree of autonomy and opportunities to develop your career;
  • International team and work environment;
  • Competitive relocation package for expats.
