We are looking for a Talent Management Consultant – Design & Development, reporting to the Head of Talent Management, as part of the Global Community of Expertise (CoE) Talent & Learning.

This is a particularly exciting time to join as Global HR is implementing its HR Target Operating Model (HR TOM) supported by a new Global HR IT solution called Workday. As part of HR TOM, the Global Communities of Expertise (CoEs) have been created and you can be part of that challenging journey.

The Global CoEs are responsible for developing the global standards, policies and strategy and analysing and managing changes. They apply thought leadership, conduct market research analysis and ensure capability building with HR Business Partners and People Services. The Global CoEs provide expert advice, guidance and insights to HR and the business as required and answer tier 3 questions and exceptions.

The Talent Management Consultant provides guidance and direction for all “outside-in” talent management activities throughout ING globally. These activities require end-to-end ownership of major Talent Management portfolio items and collaboration with the broader T&L and other HR CoEs to ensure solutions and products are “joined-up”, scalable and relevant to successful execution of the bank’s strategy.

Your key accountabilities are:

  • Contribute towards and support development of the ING talent management (TM) practice, ensuring ING is ahead of market in terms of TM trends. Bring to / develop within ING relevant current and future “next-gen” practices that will enable delivery of the Think Forward Strategy
  • Own and manage the relationship between the Global TM CoE, ensure that CoE members are kept informed of global initiatives (and vice versa); manage global initiatives and organise delivery of these via the Global CoE, regardless of member location.
  • Interpret global business requirements - assess industry trends and policies and understand implication of the market context
  • Provide input on, design and implement a globally consistent HR framework and approach towards talent management: conduct and share research to keep CoE updated on trends, track governance for the TM CoE, monitor common use of policies and manage portfolio(s) for key markets and business areas
  • Design, maintain, improve and make available HR products e.g. policies, standards, metrics, tools, and templates that are aligned to the business strategy, produced by the CoE and handed over to HRBPs and People Services for implementation
  • Ensure that HR solutions are relevant – act as project executive for the implementation of HR solutions, ensuring that globally-designed solutions are relevant in the countries. Evaluate country and business-line-level solutions on a regular basis for global applicability and scalability
  • Collaborate with and empower of Talent Management specialists; build the network, broker information and solutions across the CoE; proactively identify and escalate talent-related challenges (and proposed solutions)
  • Leverage the experience of co-CoE experts (e.g. in Recruitment, Learning, Leadership, D&I and People Analytics) to ensure a world-class employee experience and best-in-class TM solutions for the business
  • Develop and implement a global strategy for assessments relevant to all employees regardless of their career stages, build, maintain and improve the broader ING competency/capability library/framework, and deliver the associated budgeting, procurement, and risk management activities needed.
  • Talent Management Strategy to include:
    • Ensure Diversity and Inclusion is incorporated in all TM processes
    • Track and redesign metrics to analyse, support and improve initiatives
    • Contribute towards, and deliver thought leadership so as to maintain and share knowledge of best practices and technologies that enable continued process optimisation and efficiency
    • Collaborate with teams and individual employees to keep HRBPs, line management and talent population(s) engaged and aligned

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • 10+ years as an HR professional working in Talent Management, HR Strategy, HR Business Partnering or equivalent. Knowledge and/or experience of best-in-class TM technologies and solutions
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into workable business solutions
  • A sound understanding of analytics, metrics and story-telling through data
  • Experience of managing and collaborating in a matrixed global environment
  • Experience in leading through partnership across geographies is essential
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results through a variety of stakeholders
  • Track record of driving changes through influencing and communication
  • Programme and project management skills
  • Strong relationship skills; ability to build rapport with stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds and at varying levels of seniority

Your work environment

You will be working for the Head of Talent Management. You will work in close cooperation with the HR BPs, senior stakeholders in the Global T&L Community of Expertise, and external vendors/partners (e.g. assessment providers and IBM).

Personal Profile

-Bachelor / University degree, preferably in Human Resources or Psychology

-Understanding of HR, as well as the drivers of our business;

-Work experience in an international setting; ideally within financial services or technology organisations

-International experience: must have worked in or led cross-geography teams (experience living and working in more than one country is also valued)
