Finance Bank Treasury & Corporate Line is looking fora Transition Manager Hedge Accounting with a strong project and change management background, and a desire to work in an ambitious and dynamic environment with a high level of business expertise and specialist knowledge.

Your Work Environment

Finance Bank Treasury & Corporate Line (BT & CL) is overall responsible for the financial management of Group Treasury and Corporate Line activities within ING.

Hedge Accounting is an important capability within the Bank Treasury business, which enables ING to manage volatility in reported results caused by asymmetry in accounting treatment of financial instruments. Implementing Hedge Accounting capabilities is therefore a key component in the strategic change portfolio within Finance BT & CL and Group Treasury. Stakeholders for Hedge Accounting include:

  • Bank Treasury Front Office
  • COO Bank Treasury
  • COO Finance (change and service centre)
  • Global Centre of Expertise Hedge Accounting, Finance BT Global Standards & Network Support
  • Head of Change for Bank Treasury & Financial Markets (FX MM)
  • IT (multiple applications)

Tasks & Responsibilities

Your most important tasks are:

  • Lead and manage 4 delivery streams for Hedge Accounting:

A) Hedge Accounting roadmap development (heat map based on identified milestones BT-FM strategic change roadmap);

B) FM-BT IT delivery end to end- ensure all IT development (Summit, BOTS) is aligned and executed based on milestones in the roadmap;

C) Finance delivery: Ensure that all work for transition is coordinated with Product Accounting, Financial Reporting (functional requirements) and FCOO Change/IT alignment with Finance (including test environments) is in place;

D) Country design and impact analysis: Determine impact on top 10 core countries of HA roadmap and liaise directly with impacted countries for ‘local’ impact such as Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Singapore, US, Luxembourg and Czech Republic.

  • Be involved in target IT discussions of building new Hedge Accounting modules within the ING IT & Business Architecture (design);
  • Ensure that through regular governance structure (Steering Committees) all relevant stakeholders are part of decision making;
  • Deliver progress reports to relevant stakeholder committees;
  • Monitor and control costs/budget related to Hedge Accounting change initiatives;
  • Explore the set-up of a core expert team with end to end knowledge and oversight of Hedge Accounting (Front to Finance).

Knowledge & Experience

  • You have more than 10 years working experience within the banking sector in the areas of project and change management;
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, hedge accounting, and relevant IFRS accounting standards (IAS 39/IFRS 9) is a pre;
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbal;
  • Capable to operate in an international setting, with sensitivity to cultural differences.

Education

  • You can demonstrate that you hold at least a Master degree.
