The Credit Analytics team is part of the Financing Solutions (FS) product unit which has end-to-end responsibility for delivering lending products to all client segments. It is like the engine room of lending and offers advice, monitors credit status and offers appropriate credit solutions. FS provides exposures of over one million euros of a credit advice.


The Credit Analytics team is part of a broader department named Credit & Collateral Data Management and Strategy which is responsible for data quality, data distribution and data analytics within Financing Solutions. Together we work on several data projects aiming to make the credit domain (more) data driven. We collaborate a lot and help each other with data challenges, we all are eager to learn and develop ourselves. We work hybrid, team members work at least 2 days per week from our headquarters in Amsterdam.


We are looking for a STEM (e.g. Business Analytics, Econometrics, Computer Science etc.) working student (dual program) to help improve the data analytics and science capabilities of the Credit Analytics team. The work of the team includes data modelling and dashboarding to create insights from billions of rows of data and advanced analytics to identify, develop and implement data opportunities and solutions. You will work on the Credit Domain Data Store containing data from multiple sources including transaction, credit and customer data. This data is readily available.

Your job

In this role, you will:

  • Be part of a new, young but experienced team in data analytics and data science
  • Support data projects together with data analysts and scientists in the team
  • Perform data analysis and experiments, think about the value for end-users and create data solutions on the Credit Domain Data Store
  • Support in the data science / advanced analytics life cycle: Ideation, data preparation, feature engineering, modelling, monitoring etc.
  • Transform (internal and external) raw data into working data solutions in close collaboration with the data/machine learning engineering team
  • Enable data driven decision making with data modelling and dashboarding
  • Work closely with business partners to ensure that the teams are able to leverage data across Financing Solutions
  • Learn how it is to create workable data solutions: we work with Python, Pyspark, SQL and Power BI (we don’t expect you to be sufficient in all languages)

Your profile

  • Master student in quantitative area like mathematics, business analytics, computer science, econometrics etc.
  • Eager to learn, no 9 to 5 mentality
  • Knowledge of major programming languages, preferably Python and SQL
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms / packages (such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost etc.) and model explainability (e.g. SHAP)
  • Basic knowledge or willingness to learn the credit and banking domain
  • A good communicator that works effectively with multiple team members and shares new ideas proactively
  • Work independently in a complex, dynamic environment and be able to successfully complete data projects
