Imagine stepping into the role of a Tech Lead, where you and your teams play a crucial part in delivering the finest payment solutions for our clients. We are dedicated to creating state-of-the-art payment traffic solutions for all customer groups at the bank.

You and your job

As a Tech Lead, you have the unique opportunity to make a significant difference by guiding an area within the Payments Tribe. Together with your fellow tech lead, you will oversee the IT of 5 Squads, collaborating closely with product management to further shape the digital ambitions of Rabobank. Your IT devops teams are integral to the Special Payments Solutions area squads, focusing on critical payment chains and state of the art solutions for our corporate clients and offering great solutions for international cash management such as Trade services and Multibank reachability. For centralized transaction banking we offer our clients direct connectivity to our payments processing infrastructure securing straight through and in time processing of bulk payments. Our clients can use these services @ Rabobank online, Swift or through other Payment Service Providers. This entails ensuring 24/7 availability, top-tier cyber security, and swift transaction processing—crucial for all our customers.

Beyond maintaining continuity, we aim for substantial changes that benefit customers and significantly increase the bank's revenue. The payments field is constantly evolving and remains perpetually intriguing. As a Tech Lead, you ensure optimal performance of your people and teams by removing any obstacles they face. You guide them towards becoming high-performance teams, fostering a great workplace and an inspiring engineering culture. Our engineers, working flexibly from home, office, onsite in Utrecht, nearshore Romania are the foundation of our success, and we ensure they perform at their best.

Making a difference in the area Special Payment Solutions

  • Multibank initiation and reporting @Rabobank online and Multibank reachability via Swift
  • Rabo Direct Connect Bulk payment initiation and reporting using a direct connection, Swift or a payment service provider
  • Cash pooling services including sweeping and netting of account structures

As the IT Lead, your crucial role encompasses crafting and maintaining a strategic Tech roadmap, building and enhancing high-performing teams, and upholding IT quality across the bank, with a focus on Tribe Payments. You'll ensure IT's continuity and innovation, addressing rapid changes in customer needs and regulatory demands for a superior customer experience, aligning with trends and legislation through flexible, reliable solutions. Your responsibilities include quality software development, continuous improvement, resource management, and talent development, in collaboration with the Area lead and lead architect for roadmap execution. You'll foster an engineering culture, ensuring a safe and motivating environment, and maintain our IT systems' stability, managing our resources, suppliers, and budget effectively.

Your own team within Tribe Payments will consist of about 38 direct FTE’s.

You and your talent

  • Complex Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to navigate high-impact changes within a complex IT landscape, utilizing excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership and Management Proficiency: Strong management, coaching, and negotiation abilities to lead and integrate people, processes, technology, and resources towards achieving unified goals across various domains.
  • Extensive IT Experience: Over 10 years of master-level experience in the IT sector, with a comprehensive understanding of diverse IT competencies.
  • Agile and Team Development: Proven experience in Agile methodologies and coaching high-performing teams, emphasizing continuous improvement and agility.
  • Innovation and Market Awareness: Keen awareness of customer and market trends, digitalization, robotics, and high-tech developments, with the ability to adapt and innovate.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge and experience with front-end, services, back-end architectures, and cloud technologies, ensuring a well-rounded technical leadership.
  • Offshore Management: Experience in managing offshore and nearshore development projects, showcasing global teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Initiative and Inspirational Leadership: A self-starter with a challenger mindset and the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams, fostering an environment of mutual growth and achievement.

This is what we offer you

  • a gross monthly salary between € 5.834,- and € 8.334,- (scale 11, 36 hours per week).
  • 13th month and holiday pay: as of January 1, 2023, the holiday allowance and annual allowance will usually be paid out in 12 equal monthly instalments. Employees have the option once a year to opt for the holiday allowance to be paid out in May and the annual allowance in December.
  • an Employee Benefit Budget (11% of your monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions, or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out.
  • an annual personal development/training budget of € 1.400,-
  • 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport! Do you still prefer to travel by car or motorbike? Then choose a commuting allowance.
  • a monthly € 40,- net work from home allowance, based on working from home 5 days per week.
  • a monthly € 40,- net internet allowance.
  • Attractive pension fund with a personal contribution of only 5.5%. Rabobank will contribute 21.5%.
